Violating any of these rules will result in an immediate ban from all Get Weird events as a performer and patron.

PERFORMER GUIDELINES
● You must be over 18 years old with valid ID
● You must fill out the Performer Tech Form a week before the event.
● Music must be under 4 minutes long unless otherwise discussed.
● You must do your research to ensure your act is your own and not derivative of other established acts locally and internationally.
● You must inform us before the event if you plan to use water, fire or any kind of mess on stage.
● Arrive 30 minutes before performance – no communication of being late prior will result in your performance slot being removed for the night.
● Get Weird and the Venue of performance are not responsible for personal injury caused during performance (Performers insurance is recommended)
TERMS & CONDITIONS
There is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICYfor any kind of anti-social and harmful behaviour towards other performers, patrons or staff such as: harassment, discrimination, violence, sexual assault, abuse, misgendering, transphobia, racism, abuse of power, stalking, stealing, xenophobia, fatphobia, ableism, anti-blackness, disrespect, bullying, sexism, property or personal damage and non-consensual behaviours.
Consent: Do not touch other performers, staff or patrons without consent.
Backstage is for Artists & Staff only. Your friends are not allowed backstage unless you’ve contacted us prior. Anyone found backstage that is not a performer or staff member will be instantly removed from the venue.
Nude Acts & Backstage Changing: Connections Nightclub has a full nude license however if you want to expose genitalia during a performance you must inform us before the event. Genitalia must be covered backstage as best as possible when changing. Use the appropriate change room backstage.
Nipple Pasties: Connections Nightclub has a full nude license however we recommend nipple covers to be worn on exposed chests due to photography. This includes silicone/fake chests. Plus they’re cute x
Cultural Appropriation: or racially insensitive performances will not be tolerated. Only Black/Blak and Indigenous Australians can use songs with the “N” word in it.
Trigger Warnings: You must notify us prior if your act contains any of the following: Drug/Alcohol Use, Fake Genital Removal, Violence, Sexual Violence, Death & Suffering, Mental Health Issues, Discrimination, Hate Speech, Abuse, Medical Content, Horror FX
Political Acts: Our events exist to celebrate queer liberation, community care, and progressive values. We proudly stand for feminism, LGBTQIA+ rights, trans liberation, racial justice, First Nations sovereignty, sex worker rights, disability justice, workers’ rights, and broader movements for social equity and collective liberation.
Performances that conflict with these values may not be approved.
Fire & Messy Acts: The use of fire, pyrotechnics, large mess must be communicated to us beforehand.
By performing for Get Weird you accept these terms and conditions in order to perform. If any of these terms and conditions are violated you will be removed from the venue immediately forfeiting your performance fee and banned from performing or attending any Get Weird events depending on the severity of the violation.
